The library welcomed a ton of new books this month. Some of our new titles include:
Please stop by and see what other new reads we have to offer.
There are several new books on display in the Media Center, including a new children’s book titled STOMP OUT the Bullying. Angel McGowan, a junior at JL Mann, wrote and published this story about a boy named Mikey who is being bullied at school. The book is illustrated by another JL Mann student, sophomore Matthew Linn.

The J.L. Mann Book Club invites all who are interested to the next meeting on November 1st at 7:45am in the media center. Please come prepared to discuss the club’s next book choice Looking for Alaska by John Green.
Did you know you can stay after school to study, research, read, or do homework? We will stay open on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday afternoons until 4:45 for students who sign up in advance. If you need a ride home there will be buses available if you sign up early enough. Just talk to Ms. Anderson to schedule time. Don’t forget we always open at 8:00 am if you need a place to study away from the noise in the commons area. Students are also welcome during their lunch. This is a great opportunity- take advantage of it!
Do you like to read magazines? Would you like to read them more in the library here at J.L. Mann? We are looking into adding some more titles to our collection. Please tell us your favorite magazine titles and we will see if we can add them for you. You can do so by visiting the following link and completing this brief survey.
And don’t forget the magazines we already subscribe to including ESPN, Wired, TIME, Shonen Jump, Seventeen, and South Carolina Wildlife.
Welcome to our new blog! To the right you will see our most popular links and information. Please visit the tabs at the top to see all of the resources we have collected, especially the Class Projects tab, which features resources for classes we are currently working with.
